Hibike Expansion Coming in November 2023

We're thrilled to announce that Hibike is gearing up for a remarkable expansion this November!

As we continue to grow and enhance our services on the Big Island, we're excited to introduce electric bikes (e-bikes) to our fleet. This addition will not only make your rides even more enjoyable but also promote eco-friendly transportation options across Kona and Hilo.

Stay tuned for more updates on this electrifying development!

Thank you to all those who participated in the Trek the Trail event held on September 16, organized by Hawaii County. This event provided a valuable platform to emphasize the importance of bike safety to children and educate them about riding and safety laws through an engaging bike course..

Our involvement in this event has been truly gratifying, and we extend our sincere appreciation to Hawaii County for their efforts in organizing this initiative.

Tips & Tricks

Returning your HiBike

  • Push your bike firmly into an open dock and wait until the LED light on the keypad turns green before walking away. If you are using the PBSC app you can check the "trips" tab on the app. If the app shows an active trip, your bike has NOT been docked properly.

  • If you have a flat tire, lift up (off the ground) the tire that is flat as you push the bike into the dock, aligning the brass triangle (triangle is above the front tire) with the dock until you get a green light on the keypad.

  • If something is wrong with your bike, after you see the green light on the keypad when returning it, please press the red wrench button (on top of the keypad) to alert our staff.

  • If you are not sure whether you saw the green light or not, please contact the call center while you are still at the station with your bike. You can reach the call center at 888-859-2453 or email us at info@hawaiiislandbike.com.
