With support from the Better Bike Share Partnership, Biki is looking for Ambassadors to help us better connect to communities within our service area that need more affordable in-town transportation options. Ambassadors will rely on in-person and digital outreach to educate individuals about the benefits of cycling and how to use Honolulu’s bikeshare service.
Program Period: July 1, 2021 – December 31, 2021
Program Expectations for a Biki Ambassador:
Qualifications: Ambassadors must be residents of Oahu and at least 16 years of age. We are seeking representation from different neighborhoods within our service area and looking for Ambassadors who are involved with other community groups and organizations. Applicants do not need to be current Biki Members but must be comfortable riding a bike.
This is a 6 month pilot program and we encourage participants interested in helping us establish a sustainable Ambassador Program to extend beyond the pilot.
Ambassador Perks:
The Better Bike Share Partnership is a collaboration funded by The JPB Foundation to build equitable and replicable shared micromobility systems. The partners include The City of Philadelphia, the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO) and the PeopleForBikes Foundation.
Biki Stop #101, previous located at Chinatown’s Maunakea and King Streets, has been relocated to Pauahi Street and Nuuanu Avenue by The ARTS at Marks Garage. We work very closely with the city on the location of our stations, and were asked to relocate this Biki Stop to comply with the bulb out project. We received a permit for the new location at Pauahi Street and Nuuanu Avenue yesterday and are excited to now be conveniently located near Hawaii Theatre, The ARTS at Marks Garage, and several other local businesses!
We apologize for any inconvenience that may result from the relocation of this Biki Stop. Please check the Biki App or the website map to find a nearby Biki Stop to check in/out a bike. We recommend #102 Marin & Smith, #111 Fort & King and #103 Fort & Hotel, which are all in close proximity of the Mauanakea & King location.
